Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Sergey Nikolaevich Lysenko was born on September 15, 1921 in the town of Gorodishche in the Cherkassy region. Member of the Second World War. He was awarded two Orders of the Red Star, the Order of the Great Patriotic War and medals. In 1952 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute (workshop of battle-historical painting). Teachers-K.Trokhimenko, S. Grigoriev, G.Melikhov, V.Kostetskiy, K.Eleva. Worked in the field of easel painting. Lysenko S.N. – participant of art exhibitions: since 1952 – republican, since 1958 – all-Union, since 1960 – foreign. The main exhibitions: 1952 – XIth exhibition of fine arts of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev; 1961 – Mobile exhibition of works of Ukrainian Soviet artists, Leningrad, Riga, Vilnius, Tallinn, Kharkov, Lviv; 1971 – Republican art exhibition “Physical Culture and Sport in Fine Arts”, Kiev; 1974 – First Republican art exhibition of works of veteran artists of the Second World War, Kiev; 1982 – Republican art exhibition “The USSR is our Motherland”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the formation of the USSR, Kiev.
