Биография

Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Belyak Vladimir Iosifovich was born on May 4, 1924 in the suburb of Odessa – Lystdorff (Chernomorka). From 1940 to 1947 he studied at the Odessa Art School in A. Postel, I. Gursky, D. Krainev. From 1947 to 1953 he studied at the Kiev State Art Institute. Teachers: I. Shtilman, M. Sharonov, S. Grigoriev, K. Yelev, K. Trokhimenko, M. Ivanov. After graduation, along with his friend – the painter D. Bednoshey, he takes a job in the creative and production workshops of the Art Fund. In 1953 he participated in the exhibition of Ukrainian fine arts in Moscow (within the framework of the decade of Ukrainian art). His work is marked by the distinction “For creative success”. Vladimir Belyak is a participant of numerous city, republican, all-Union and international art exhibitions. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1953. Since 1960, the artist begins to work on the series “Kiev”. In 1973 he took part in the exhibition “Kuindzhi Memorial”. Awarded a commemorative badge and medal. In 1977, after visiting the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara in Uzbekistan, he created a series of works on Central Asian subjects. In 1988 he was awarded the medal of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Personal exhibitions of the artist took place in the Ukrainian House (Kiev, 2004) and in the Russian Museum (Kyiv, 2008).
The works of Vladimir Iosifovich Belyak are represented in museum and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, France, Poland and other countries.
