Ukrainian Soviet painter, monumentalist. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Vladimir Vasilyevich Davydov was born on July 24, 1924 in the village of. Shutino of Perm province in Russia. In 1944 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art School. From 1944 to 1950 he studied at the Kiev State Art Institute. Teachers – A. Shovkunenko, T. Yablonska, F. Shmelyov. In 1950 Davydov VV was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He worked in the field of easel painting and monumental and decorative art. The author of thematic paintings and portraits. Member of art exhibitions: republican – since 1949, all-Union – since 1951, foreign – since 1955. In 1954, Vladimir Davydov participated in the creation of the stained-glass window “Pereyaslav Rada” in pavilion No. 58 “Agriculture” of the Ukrainian SSR at the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow. The main works: “Livestock producers” (1950), together with G. Bonya, S. Kirichenko and S. Otroshchenko, the stained-glass window “Pereyaslavskaya Rada” (1952 -1954), “Memory of the Fathers” (1966-1967), “Oath” (1968- 1970), “At Home” (1964), “Always in the ranks. N. Ostrovskaya “(1970-1971), a triptych” Alexander Nevsky, Alexander Suvorov, Georgy Zhukov “(1987) and others. The works of Vladimir Vasilievich Davydov are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum in Lvov.
