Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Semyon Konstantinovich Bondarenko was born on June 11, 1930 in the village of Alekseevka, Voronezh region, in the family of a worker. Early childhood was spent in the Far East. In 1939, the artist’s family moved to Voroshilovograd (Lugansk) region, and then to Zaporozhye. In 1951-1956 years S.Bondarenko. studied at the Voroshilovograd Art School, where his teacher was Volstein Mosey Lvovich. All further life and work of the artist are connected with the city of Zaporozhye. He invariably worked in the Zaporozhye art-industrial workshops for many years. The main directions in creativity are graphic and easel painting. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1963. Member of regional, republican and all-Union exhibitions. Semyon Kostantinovich in his work paid much attention to the landscapes of his native land, he often turned to the historical past of the Zaporozhye region. The artist’s works are presented in public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
