Soviet Ukrainian artist, painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Barannikova (Kirilenko) Galina Georgievna was born on February 13, 1950 in the state farm “Communist” in the Turkmen SSR. In 1966 – 1970 she studied at the Ashkhabad Art School named after Nurali Byashim (Turkmenistan). From 1970 to 1976 she studied at the Kiev Art Institute in the Faculty of Easel Painting, in the studio of Professor V.V. Shatalina. Teachers in the specialty were: A. Basanets, V. Singayevsky, A. Krivonos, V. Vyrodova-Gautier, I. Kovtoniuk, V. Pristalenko. In 1976, the thesis “Children of War” (1976) and the portrait “Chaban” (1975) were exhibited at the republican exhibition of works of young artists “Youth of the country”, held in Kiev. Since that time, the pictures of Barannikova G.G. many times participated in city, republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1982. Major works: “In training” (1980), “Old Sednev” (1982), “In the day off” (1978), “T. Shevchenko in Sednev” (1989), “Blue Bird” (1997), “Memories of Turkmenistan (1995-2000). Member of NSHU (1982). The works of the artist are represented in the Museum of T.G. Shevchenko in Kanev, in the National Museum of History of Ukraine, in the Kamensky State Literary and Memorial Museum of AS. Pushkin and P.I. Tchaikovsky, in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, France, Finland, Germany, the USA and Canada.
