Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Honored Artist of the USSR, monumentalist, a bright representative of the Lviv school of painting. Was born on October 6, 1928 in with. Zavalayki, Volochesky district of Khmelnitsky region. In 1956 he graduated with honors from Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now Lviv Academy of Arts), faculty of monumental painting. His teachers in the specialty were outstanding Ukrainian artists I. Bokshay and R. Selsky. Diploma work – painting in the foyer of Lviv State University. I. Franco. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1962. Professor, Honored Artist of Ukraine since 1973. For seven years, he was in charge of the Department of Academic Painting at the Lviv Academy of Arts. For eight years he was the main artist of Lviv. For twelve years he headed the Department of Architecture at the Lviv National Agrarian University. His works are mentioned in the six-volume edition of The History of Art of Ukraine. S. Servetnik is one of the 100 best artists of Polish nationality who lived and worked outside of Poland, their joint exhibition was held in Warsaw in 1991. He worked in the genre of monumental, easel painting and graphics. The works of Stanislav Servetnik are in the exhibition fund of Ukraine, purchased by the museums of Ukraine. In the Historical Museum of Lviv there is a painting “The Victory of Daniel Halytsky over the Crusaders in 1237. In Dorogichin” Also his paintings are in the expositions of the Vygovsky Museum, Olesky and Zolochivsky Castles and also in private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Completed paintings in seven cathedrals, created iconostases in the cities of Komarno, Lanchin and others. Participated in personal and group exhibitions in Lviv, Kiev, Toronto, Madrid, Paris, Prague, Warsaw and others. He also worked as an artist – a monumentalist in the field of stained glass and mosaic. One of his works is the stained-glass window “The History of the Post” in the premises of the Lviv Main Post. He created about eight hundred works in the technique of oil painting, tempera, watercolors, pastels and drawing. The main theme of the paintings is landscapes, portraits. Inventing a series of watercolors “Sacred wooden architecture”, “Carpathian landscape” and others. He died on February 21, 2017. He was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery. The works of the painter are rare in the art market of Ukraine and are highly appreciated by collectors.
