Zhurakovsky Victor Petrovich

Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. He was born on May 29, 1928 in Harbin (China). He graduated from the Odessa Art College (1952-1955). Teachers specializing in -A. Muchnik, D. Frumin, M. Todorov, M. Muzelmaher. He worked in the field of easel painting, a master of landscape. Zhurakovsky V.P. early period of his work – is an experimenter looking for an artist, basically it is about the works of the 60 -70-ies. This and his samples in a harsh style, and picturesque dialogues with contemporaries, primarily, with Alexander Attsmanchuk and Vladimir Vlasov. The work of this period today is a rarity. Zhurakovsky is a classic of the post-war Odessa school. Participated in republican and all-union exhibitions since 1955. Works are in Odessa HM, as well as in numerous private collections in Ukraine, Russia, the USA, Japan, Canada, France, etc. The main works: “With a catch” (1955); “Morning at the Port” (1957); “Noon” (1960); “Fresh Wind” (1961); “Soviet Ukraine” in the Odessa port “(1964),” Marine Infantry “(1976) and others. He died on September 19, 2001.
