Zakharchishin Yaroslav Nikolaevich

Soviet artist of arts and crafts, ceramist. Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences since 1967. Born August 3, 1927 in the village. Drozdovichi, Gorodetsky district, Lviv region. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Applied Arts in 1954. Teachers V. Monastyrsky and R. Selsky. He taught at the Mirgorod Technical College of Ceramics (Poltava region) from 1954-1956. Lviv Children’s Art School from 1957 to 1963. In the field of artistic ceramics and monumental painting created animalistic figurines, figurative dishes, mosaics, bas-reliefs, lamps. Member of republican and all-union art exhibitions since 1963. The main works: ceramic sculptures – “Zubr” (1963, 1972), “Vol” (1964), “Horse”, “Buffalo” (both – 1967), “Bison” (1971); figured vessels – “The Baron of the Circassian” (1965), “The Goat” (1967); decor. layers – “Lilya”, “Perebendya” (both – 1964), “Lesya Ukrainka”; mosaics – “Welcome”, “Happy Way” (both – 1965; stelae at the entrance to Pavlograd, Dnepropetrovsk region); bas-relief “Agriculture” (1970, stella at the entrance to Svetlograd, Stavropol Territory, RF); bust of V. Lenin (1970); lamps – for the main post-office and city council of the city of Lvov (1975).
