Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Leonid Yavorsky was born on December 25, 1925 in the village of Novogrigorievka, Lysogorsky district, Mykolayiv region. A native of the Steppe Ukraine, a graduate of the Odessa Art College (1947-1952) and the Riga Academy of Arts, a participant in many regional, national and international exhibitions, Leonid Fedorovich Yavorsky managed to show the purity and charm of our nature, its meadows, plains, mounds, white huts and flowering gardens. He worked in the style of Western European Impressionism, which comes from France and Germany. But other than that, his landscapes are emphatically decorative. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1966. In the 70s the artist worked in tandem with his wife Elizaveta Mironova, a famous folk artist. This pair belonged to the design of the restaurant “Cossack Watch” in Zaporozhye, the hotel “Ukraine” in Moscow and the restaurant “Kureni” in Kiev. The works of Yavorsky LF are in many private collections both in Ukraine and abroad.
