Биография

Soviet artist of arts and crafts, ceramist. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Was born on March 10, 1949 in the village. Nizhnekovichi, Starosamborskiy district, Lviv region. She graduated from the Lviv Art School of Decorative and Applied Arts named after I. Trush (1965-1969). Teacher Taras Dragan. From 1969 to 1974 she studied at the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts, teacher Zinovy ​​Flint. After graduation she worked as a senior laboratory assistant in the chair of ceramics (1974-1975). Since 1975 she worked for LEXF. Creativity: Ulyana Yaroshevich started her creative work while still a student. Since 1974 he participates in exhibitions. Works of the early period are made in terracotta without the use of painting. The natural color of the clay and the dullness of the shard only accentuate the refined silhouette of the works. The most expressive works of this period: “Tabun” (1974), and “Cosmonauts” (1974). In 1976-1981 years. works mainly on sketches, and also sculpts small compositions (10-15 cm) manually. From this period of “miniatures” it is worth recalling a series of compositions “Pegasus” (1977, clay). In 1981-1982. the artist works at the Nikolaev Majolica Factory, and her work experiences changes: in the works there is color, decorative geometric and floral ornaments. The works are decorated on a wet shard with an engobe, and then they are supplemented with glazing. Characteristic works of this period are “Butterfly” (1981, clay, engobe, glazing), “Spring” (1981, clay, engobe, glazing), “On the lake” (1981, clay, engobe, glazing), “On apiary” ( 1981, clay, engobe, glazing). In 1982, a number of these works were presented at the group exhibition of young artists of Lviv. In 1984 Ulyana Yaroshevich became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and received a workshop. He equips it with a potter’s wheel. In 1987, the artist works in the all-union creative group in the city of Dzintari (Latvia). The result is the compositions “Rural Madonna” (1987, chamotte, engob), was exhibited at the International Ceramics Competition in Faenza (Italy).
