Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Yevgeny Nikolaevich Tkachenko was born in 1923. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Marked with military awards. In 1944, during the Korsun-Shevchenko battle, he was seriously wounded. After the course of treatment in the evacuation hospital, Yevgeny Tkachenko returns home and goes to the Pedagogical Institute. After his graduation he works as a teacher at school. But the desire to become a painter did not leave him. He writes etudes from nature, visits the drawing studio and decides to continue his studies. From 1949 to 1954, Yevgeny Tkachenko studied at the Odessa Art School named after M.B. Grekova. Teachers – M.D. Todorov, L.E. The Muchnik. Master of lyrical landscapes, portraits and still lifes, written in the manner of impressionism. The main works: “The Feast of October” (1955), “On Khreshchatyk” (1957), “In the workshop” (1958), “Graduates” (1959), “Golden Autumn” (1960), “Spring in Cherkassy” (1961) , “Summer day” (1964), “City landscape with a bus” (1965), “Flowering apricot” (1971), “The Post Office” (1970), “Spring” (1970), “Summer Cafe” (1976), “On the shore” (1985), etc. The works of E.N. Tkachenko is represented in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Spain and Great Britain.
