Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Karl Alfredovich Tanpeter was born on July 24, 1926 in the city of Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod, Russian Federation). From 1943 to 1948 he studied at the Kharkov State Art College, and from 1948 to 1955 – at the Kharkov State Art Institute in the studio of Professor P. Kotov and his assistant L. Chernova. Since 1956, K.A. Tanpeter is a participant in republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Kharkov (1957) and in Kirghizia in the city of Tashkumir (1975). Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR from 1965. Since 1976, Tanpeter K.A. taught at the Kharkov State Art Institute. Worked in the field of easel painting. Master of landscape, portrait and still life. The main works: “After the Buran” (1957), “T. Shevchenko among the Kazakhs “(1961),” In the Steppe “(1963),” The First Squadrons “(1967),” The Commander J. Fabricius “(1968),” V. I. Lenin with the Red Commanders “(1970),” Self-portrait “(1970),” The Tabun on the Donets “(1970),” Still Life “(1980),” Chornomorets “(1985),” Kirghiz in the white hat “(1985) . Posthumous exhibitions of the artist were: – 2010 – exhibition “On the other side of the Tien Shan”, Odessa House-Museum. N. K. Roerich. The exhibition presented works created by the artist in Kyrgyzstan. Karl Tanpeter came to this republic from 1957 to 1985 in the open air. He became a kind of pioneer of Kirghizia in Ukrainian painting. The artist’s works, executed in the manner of the Ukrainian school of painting of the middle of the twentieth century, make the Kyrgyz scenes understandable and close to the Ukrainian audience. The artist painted mountain villages, scenes from the life of the Kirghiz and very expressive portraits. – 2010 – exhibition in the Odessa Literary Museum. At the exhibition were presented several dozen works of Karl Tanpeter from private collections. Among them are landscapes of the Crimea, the Baltic States, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan. Works by K.A. Tanpeter is represented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Kiev State Museum of Russian Art, the Kharkov City Art Gallery, the Sumy Regional Art Museum. N.H. Onatsky, Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, Donetsk Regional Art Museum, Memorial Museum of NM Przhevalsky in the city of Karakol (Kirghizia), the State Museum of Fine Arts. VI Lenin in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), the Museum of Architecture and Life of the Peoples of the Nizhny Novgorod Volga Region, as well as in gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
