Soviet Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, book illustrator. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. The pupil of E.E. Lanceray. Nikolai Khristoforovich Tairov was born on April 7, 1916 in the city of Leninakan (Gyumri). In the years 1938-1942. studied at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts in the class of the People’s Artist of the RSFSR E.E. Lancere (graphic faculty). Participated in the Great Patriotic War, liberating the Crimea in the 51st Army. In the postwar period he lived and worked in Simferopol. In 1947 he worked as an artist in the House of Officers. Since 1948 – a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. From 1947 to 1950 he taught at the Simferopol Art College. N.S. The samokish. Participated in regional, republican and all-union exhibitions. Since 1950 he worked in the Association “Krymkhudozhnik” in the workshops of the art fund. In the 1970s, he held the post of chairman of the artistic council of the KPPK (Crimean Artistic and Industrial Combine) art fund of the Ukrainian SSR. Member of the CPSU. A lot of time and energy the author devoted to book illustration, collaborated with “Krymizdat”. The older generation remembers the covers, screensavers and fonts, designed by the artist of the books “Man from the Moon” by AA. Chumachenko (1952), “The Green Fish” S.V. Sakharnov (1958), Doctor Aibolit K.I. Chukovsky (1957), “Murka-Burka” I. Franko (1955). Some publications are presented in the windows. Together with E.M. Grabovetsky (1912-2007) and other artists made illustrations to the collection of poems, songs, stories and fairy tales “Baby”, compiled by A.I. Chukhin (1960) for preschool children. Major works: illustrations to the stories of L. Tolstoy (1950); to the works of K. Chukovsky (1956); series “Kamish-Burun” “Sevastopol” (1962) and others. Lived and worked in the Crimea.
