Soviet Ukrainian painter. People’s Artist of the USSR. Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR. Associate Professor (1960). Professor (since 1976). Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Born July 23, 1918 in the village of Shurygin, Barnaul district, Altai Territory. He graduated from the Omsk Art College (1939) and the Kharkov Art Institute. Teachers by specialty – S. Prokhorov, O. Kokel. Member of the CPSU. Member of the Great Patriotic War. From 1949-2005 he taught at the Kharkov Art Institute (Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts). Member of the KhO SCU since 1953; He was chairman of the board of KhO SHU (1953-87), a member of the presidium, secretary of the board of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1956-87), chairman of the Central Audit Commission of the USSR Union of Artists (1957-63), a member of the Board of the USSR Union of Artists (1963-87) (1963-87). He worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. Major works: “V. Mayakovsky among the youth “(1949); a portrait of the turner VP Dikan (1951); a portrait of a milkmaid by L.P. Lutsenko (1955); “Kharkov women” (1960); portrait of General L. Svoboda (1961); “The Kharkov Sea” (1964); a portrait of M. Skrypnyk (1965) and others. Participated in exhibitions: republican since 1949, all-Union since 1951, foreign since 1954, personal – Kharkov, 1967. Honored worker of arts of the USSR (1960). Associate Professor (1960). He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
