Soviet Ukrainian painter, landscape painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Was born in with. Gluhovka, Gomel region in 1906. He graduated from the Academy of Arts (1931), where he studied under P. Volokidin, D. Krainev, V. Zause. Since 1936 he participated in the Regional Exhibition of Studies and Drawings of Odessa Artists. In 1939 he entered the art school as a teacher of art at the Art College (OCU), where he worked with interruptions until 1951. In 1939 he participated in the group exhibition “Creative Report of Artists RE Nudelman, NA Shelyuto, ML Shparberg.” Member of the Great Patriotic War. Honored Artist of the USSR (1958). Was engaged in teaching activities. Follower of the traditions of TYURH. Participant of republican, all-Union and private exhibitions. The works are in many museums of Ukraine and private collections of the USSR and Europe. Lived and worked in Odessa. In the works of Nicholas Sheluto clearly shows the influence of Russian realistic art and Impressionist art of the XIX – early XX centuries.
