Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Born April 10, 1928 in the village of Roston (Orel region). He graduated from the Lugansk Art College (1948) and the Kharkov Art Institute where he studied at S.Besedin, G.Tomenko, I.Karasya, V.Sizikov. He worked in the easel painting industry. The whole life of Ivan Petrovich Selishchev was devoted to the service of art, the service of painting. A fine painter, who was sensitive to the nature and beauty of his favorite places, in the last years of his life created a series of landscapes and sketches, which are presented at the exhibition “Painting is alive”. Major works: “The Beginning of Spring” (1957); “Mine North Mamaevskaya” (1958); “Makeyevka. Industrial Landscape “(1960); “Evening in the Field” (1963); “The collective farm spring” (1965) and others. From 1951 to 2010, IP Selischev – a participant in regional, all-Ukrainian, all-union and international exhibitions (England, Italy, USA, Japan). His paintings are purchased by the Ministry of Culture of the USSR, the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR, the Union of Artists of Ukraine, are in the art museum of Ukraine, as well as in the galleries “Roy Miles Gallery” (England, London), “Gekoso” (Japan, Tokyo) and private collections. the artist is in many public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
