Soviet Ukrainian painter, graphic artist. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Petr Yevlampievich Sabadysh was born on December 21, 1908 (January 3, 1909 according to the new style) in the city of Alexandrovsk, now – Zaporozhye. From 1922 to 1927 he studied at the Zaporozhye Art School. In 1932 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, where he studied at A. Bogomazov, V. Palmov, M. Boychuk. Worked in the field of landscape painting. Sabadish PE participant of art exhibitions since 1929. Personal exhibition of the artist took place in 1959 in Kiev. In 1968 he was awarded the Medal and Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. Honored Artist of Ukraine since 1974. In 1976, Petr Evlampievich’s paintings participated in an exhibition of works by graduates of the Zaporizhzhya Art School, held in Zaporozhye. In the Zaporozhye Regional Art Museum there are 17 paintings of Sabadish. The main works: “The Collective Farm Girl” (1934); “The Uzbek with the Ketmen” (1941); “The River of Rostavitsa” (1957); “Sunflowers” (1960); “In Poltava” (1967) and others. The artist died on June 16, 1994.
