Ukrainian Soviet painter. People’s Artist of Ukraine. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Viktor Ivanovich Ryzhikh was born on July 29, 1933 in Omsk, Russia. In 1958 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, where he studied at the workshop of battle and historical painting at K.D. Trokhimenko, V.G. Puzyrykova, G.S. Melikhov. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR from 1961. IN AND. Red – a participant of art exhibitions: republican – since 1959, all-Union – since 1967, foreign – since 1974. The main works: “Relics of Brest” (1968), “Search” (1975), “Kiev football” (1979), “On the Capitol” (1990), “Girona” (1997) . A number of paintings the artist wrote in co-authorship with his wife Neledva Galina Alexandrovna. The Studio of the Red and Neledwas was one of the centers of “artistic freedom” on an equal footing with such “informal academies” as the workshops of Fyodor Manailo in Uzhgorod, R. Selsky in Lviv, S. Paradzhanov, A. Gorsky, Viktor Zaretsky, I. Grigoriev, Zoe Lerman in Kiev. Worked in the field of easel painting. Master of subject compositions, landscapes and still lifes. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Kiev (1980, 1984, 1993, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2009, 2010), in Zaporozhye (2013), in Moscow (1982), in Georgia (1983, 1984). ), in the USA (1992), in Spain (1996). In 1980, V.I. Red was awarded the title – “Honored Artist of the USSR.” Since 2004 – “People’s Artist of Ukraine”. Since 2001, a corresponding member, and since 2006 – a full member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. Major works: “Young recruiting” (1961); Donbass (1963); “Metallurgists” (1965); “Researchers” (1966); “Relics of Brest” (1968) and others. Works by Ryzhikh V.I. are represented in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in numerous museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
