Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of the USSR. Victor Grigorievich Puzyrkov was born on October 4, 1918 in the city of Yekaterinoslav (Dnepropetrovsk).
In 1946 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute. Teachers by specialty – K. Yelev, F. Krichevsky, S. Gerasimov, A. Shovkunenko. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Since 1947, V.G. Puzyrkov participates in republican, all-Union and international art exhibitions. The title of Honored Artist of the USSR was awarded to the artist in 1951. Since 1948 – a teacher, since 1957 – a professor at the Kiev Art Institute. Puzyrkov VG was awarded two State Prizes of the USSR in 1948 and 1950. People’s Artist of the USSR from 1963. In 1976, V.G. Puzyrkov was awarded the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR named after T. Shevchenko for the paintings “Soldiers” and “In the dugout”. People’s Artist of the USSR since 1979. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree, and medals. Viktor Grigoryevich Puzyrykov died on October 30, 1999. He was buried at Baykovoye cemetery in Kiev. His works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in many museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
