Soviet Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. People’s Artist of Ukraine. Sergei Pavlovich Podervyansky was born on July 15, 1916 in Kiev. The creative way began in the 1930s as the author of political and film posters. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Marked with military awards. From 1946 to 1952 he studied at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Yu. Repin from K. Rudakov, V. Konashevich, M. Avilov. Diploma work of Sergei Podervyansky “NG. Chernyshevsky in 1862 in the Peter and Paul Fortress “was exhibited at the Exhibition of graduate works of graduates of the Institute, opened in July 1952 in Leningrad, in the Research Museum of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. Since 1953 – participant in republican and all-union art exhibitions. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Worked in the field of genre painting and book graphics. Master of portrait and landscape. Performed illustrations for the works: E. Voinich “The Gadfly” (1967), R. Giovanyolo “Spartacus” (1966), A. Herzen “Who is to blame?” (1958), V. Korolenko “Children of the Underground” (1964) Since 1952, Podervyansky LP – teacher of drawing and painting of the Kiev Art Institute, since 1963 – assistant professor, since 1970 – head of the department, since 1982 – professor. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Kiev in 1973 and in 2006 Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR Since 1982 – People’s Artist of Ukraine.Products of S.P. Podervyansky are kept in the National Arts museums, museums, galleries and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
