Petrashevsky Stanislav Vasilievich

Soviet Ukrainian painter. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Member of the USSR. He was born in the village of Peschanaya, the Balt district of the Odessa region. The great-grandfather of the artist, Ivan Petrashevsky, was a famous icon painter, he served with Potocki. In 1953 – 1958 he studied at the Odessa Art College with A. Attschuk and N. Pavlyuk. From 1991 to 1993 he headed the Zhytomyr Regional Organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Honored Artist of Ukraine since 1994. Works of Petrashevsky SV are in the collections of many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine and the Tretyakov Gallery. Lived and worked in Zhitomir. He passed away in 1996.
