Ukrainian painter, graphic artist. People’s Artist of Ukraine. Vladimir Iosifovich Patik was born October 9, 1926 in the village of Cherny Ostrov (now Zhydachivsky district) in the Lviv region. In 1953 he graduated from the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, where he studied under R. Selsky, I. Bokshay, R. Silvestrov, M. Fedyuk. Lives and works in Lviv. IN AND. Patik is a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1954. Since 1956 – participant of regional, republican, all-Union and international art exhibitions. Vladimir Patyk traveled a lot: Ukraine and Russia, the Carpathians and the Caucasus, Central Asia and Siberia, the Baltic States and the North of Russia. Everywhere the artist was attracted by the beauty of nature, people and their work. Thus, his own pictorial manner and his special artistic style were born and shaped. The artist resorts to the use of color contrasts and various techniques: from mosaics and frescoes to graphics, pastels and oil paintings. Pure color, prevailing in the paintings of the artist of recent years, increases the emotional content and emphasizes the decorative solution of the composition. Since 1996 – Honored Artist of Ukraine. In 1999, Vladimir Iosifovich Patik was awarded the Shevchenko Prize. People’s Artist of Ukraine since 2006.
Personal exhibitions were held in Lviv (2009, 2010 and 2011) and Kiev (2011). The works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Lviv National Art Gallery, museums of Ukraine, Canada, in gallery and private collections around the world.
