Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Vladislav Mamsikov was born in 1940. He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute in 1967. In the 1960s – one of the most consistent adherents of the “severe style”, in the 1970s – a romantic and a metaphysician. One of the main Ukrainian artists of the seventies. In 1971 Mamsikov became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. His works are in museum collections (among them: the Museum of the History of Kiev, the Museum of Contemporary Fine Art of Ukraine, the Kharkov Art Museum, the Dnepropetrovsk State Art Museum, the Zaporozhye State Art Museum) and in private collections abroad.
