Soviet Ukrainian painter. Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Lubavin Yuri Mikhailovich was born on June 6, 1923 in Kharkov. From 1940 to 1950. he studied at the art studio at the Kharkov Factory of Artistic Products, where his teachers were S. Besedin and L. Chernov. The author of still lifes, landscapes, genre works. Since 1957 the artist participates in regional, republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Since 1960, Lubavin Yu.M. – Member of the Kharkov organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1976, the painter for his contribution to the development of culture was awarded the medal “For Labor Distinction.” For the works “Youth Spring” (1965), “After work” (1967), “In the days of the revolution” (1967), “Mechanizators” (1970) and “Portrait of the fitter-picker of the Kharkov Tractor Plant Bondarenko” (1973) “Lenin’s Komsomol”. The artist’s works are represented in museums, galleries and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
