Soviet Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Zoya Lerman was born on June 14, 1934 in the city of Kiev. Graduated in 1959 Kiev Art Institute, where she studied with S. Grigoriev, V. Kostetskiy and G. Melikhov. Since 1960 Lerman Z.N. – Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Participant of city, republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Zoya Lerman is a vivid representative of the second wave of the avant-garde underground, along with her husband Yuri Lutskevich, Ivan Marchuk, Julia Sheinis, Yevgeny Volobuyev and other Kiev artists. In 2008, the book “Mir Zoe Lerman” was presented (compiled by Selim Yalkut, artist – Pavel Fishel). “Zoe Lerman’s World” is a book about the personal life and creative biography of the artist, compiled on the basis of her own stories, as well as the memories and impressions of her friends and fellow artists. The works are kept in the collections of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Museum of Contemporary Fine Arts of Ukraine, the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the National Assembly of Ukraine, private collections in Europe, the USA, Israel.
