Soviet Ukrainian painter. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Victor Karpovich Kovalenko was born on May 29, 1930 in the city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory. From 1948 to 1950. studied at the Krasnodar Art College. From 1950 to 1953. service in the Soviet Navy. Participant of the exercises “Ocean” (1970 Mediterranean Sea, Syria, Libya, Egypt) In 1952 he participated in the All-Union Exhibition of Fleet Artists of the USSR in Moscow. After military service in 1954 he entered the Dnepropetrovsk Art College, which he graduated in 1956. Immediately in 1956 he began his studies at the Kharkov State Art Institute and graduated in 1962. Participant of republican, all-Union and international art exhibitions. In 1967 he was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1983 he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Artist of Ukraine”. Kovalenko V.K. – Artist – Battlesman. The main theme of his works is the Black Sea Fleet, Sevastopol. The artist’s works are kept in 12 museums of Crimea, Ukraine and Russia, as well as in private galleries in England, USA, Turkey, Germany. His works were acquired by the Ministry of Culture, the art fund of Ukraine, the directorate of exhibitions and dioramas of Ukraine. Reproductions of the artist’s works were published in the magazines “Obozotvorchecha mystestvo” (Kiev), “Ukraine” (Kiev), Dnipro (Kiev), “Sea collection” (Moscow), “Soviet warrior” (Moscow), “Warrior of Russia” (Moscow ). Many paintings served as illustrations for books on military topics. Since 1990-1992.
