Soviet Ukrainian painter. Honored worker of culture of the USSR. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Stepan Lvovich Koshevoi was born on April 17, 1921 in the village of. Petrikovka of the Dnepropetrovsk region. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Marked with military awards. In 1950 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, where his teachers were K. Yeleva, G. Svetlitsky, V. Kostetsky and I. Shtilman. In 1950-51 gg. the picture of the young artist debuted at the All-Union Art Exhibition held from December 20 to May 30 in Moscow, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Exhibition Hall of the Moscow Association of Artists, in the halls of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, in the Exhibition Hall of the Union of Soviet Artists. S.L. Koshevoy – an exhibitor of numerous republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Lived and worked in Kiev. Since 1972, Koshevoi S.L. – “Honored worker of culture of the Ukrainian SSR”. He was awarded the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. The main works: “Plowing” (1950); “Collective farm fields” (1957); “Kolkhoznaya Kyivshchina” (1961); “Here stood to death” (1965); “The Native Land” (1967); “Kanevsky Kruchi” (1970) and others. He participated in exhibitions: republican since 1951, all-Union since 1950, foreign since 1955. He was awarded with medals and the Diploma of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR. The artist’s works are presented in museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
