Kirichenko Stepan Andreevich

Soviet Ukrainian painter. People’s Artist of the USSR. He was born on March 27, 1911, with. Chepovichi of the Kiev province, currently the town of Malinovsky district of Zhytomyr region. The husband of N. Klein, the father of Elena and Roman, the grandfather of Mikhail Kirichenko. People’s Artist of the USSR (1981). Member of the Union of Artists (1941). He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute (1941, teachers: F. Krichevsky, M. Rokitsky). The main direction – easel painting and monumental-decorative art. During the Second World War he was an artist of the agitation train, he created portraits of fighters, commanders, partisans. Participated in the mosaic decoration of the Palace of Soviets in Moscow (1945), the monumental and decorative painting of the Main Pavilion and the Pavilion of the Ukrainian SSR at VDNH in Moscow (1955). He founded in 1962 and headed the mosaic workshop in Kiev (later – the section of monumental art). Member of All-Union (since 1943), republican (since 1947) and foreign (since 1958) art exhibitions. Personal – posthumous in Kiev (1991, 2001). Some works are kept in the National Museum of T. Shevchenko, Shevchenko National Reserve (Kanev, Cherkassy Region), Transcarpathian Khmelnitsky (Uzhhorod), NMUNDDM. The main works, paintings – “Father A. Kirichenko” (1938), “T.
