Soviet Ukrainian painter, graphic artist. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Landscapist, master of the genre picture. One of the representatives of the “Odessa nonconformism”. He was born in 1926 in Bezhitsa, Vinnitsa region. In 1961 he graduated from the Odessa Art School. Teachers: In. Sokolov, V. Puteyko, I. Logvin. Since 1987 – Member of the National Union of Artists, participant of numerous republican and all-Union exhibitions. The last representative of the “Odessa nonconformism”, who lives in Odessa and has seen all his periods, is the creator of bright landscapes and genre paintings, a master of thoughtful composition. Major works: “In the Port.” “They bring hay,” “Dockers.” “Red horse.” “Christmas”, “Hills of the Bering Sea” and many others. Alexei Ilyushin is a unique and extremely gifted artist of the Odessa School of Painting who has passed his way of artistic perception of the world. The artist’s paintings are represented in a number of art galleries and collections of the Odessa avant-garde, have repeatedly participated in auctions at auction sites in Ukraine and abroad. They are in constant demand among collectors.
