Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Gorshkov Nikolai Dorofeevich was born on September 25, 1923 in the city of Smila, Cherkasy region. In 1950 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute. Teachers by specialty – K. Yelev, A. Petritsky. He worked in the easel painting industry. Author of numerous genre compositions, landscapes, still lifes and portraits. Participated in republican and all-Union exhibitions since 1954. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR from 1976. Major works – “Morning” (1950), “Students” (1953), “The School” (1958), “Conquerors of Space” (1963), “Lenin and the workers of the plant Hammer and Sickle”, “Lenin and children” (1966 ), “Gopak” (1972), “special assignment” (1974), “scouts”, “Odnopolchane” (both – 1978), “The laboratory” (1980), “Secret Agent Kuznetsov” (1981), a triptych “The guerrillas “(1982),” Victory Song “,” General M. Vatutin “(both – 1985),” Korchagintsev “(1987). Lived and worked in Kiev. The works of the painter are widely represented in many public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Passed away from life in 2009.
