Ukrainian Soviet painter, monumentalist. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Vladimir Vasilyevich Davydov was born on July 24, 1924 in the village of. Shutino of Perm province in Russia. In 1944 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art School. From 1944 to 1950 he studied at the Kiev State Art Institute. Teachers – A. Shovkunenko, T. Yablonska, F. Shmelyov. In 1950 Davydov VV was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He worked in the field of easel painting and monumental and decorative art. The author of thematic paintings and portraits. Member of art exhibitions: republican – since 1949, all-Union – since 1951, foreign – since 1955. Exhibitions: 1949 – The 10th Ukrainian Art Exhibition, the State Museum of Ukrainian Art and the State Museum of Russian Art, Kiev; 1951 – Mobile exhibition of fine arts of the USSR, State Art Museum of Lithuania, Vilnius, then in the State Museum of Latvian and Russian Art, Riga; 1951 – Exhibition of fine arts of the Ukrainian SSR, timed to the decade of Ukrainian art and literature, the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow; 1952 – XIth exhibition of fine arts of the USSR, State Museum of Ukrainian Art, Kiev;
1953 – ІІ Regional Art Exhibition of the Kiev Association of Artists, Palace of Culture of the Bolshevik Plant, Kiev; 1954 – Exhibition of fine arts of the Ukrainian SSR, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the reunification of Ukraine with Russia, the State Museum of Ukrainian Art, Kiev; 1955 – Exhibition of fine arts of the Ukrainian SSR in Poland, Zahent Gallery in Warsaw, then in Krakow. In 1954, Vladimir Davydov participated in the creation of the stained-glass window “Pereyaslav Rada” in pavilion No. 58 “Agriculture” of the Ukrainian SSR at the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow. The main works: “Livestock producers” (1950), together with G. Bonya, S. Kirichenko and S. Otroshchenko, the stained-glass window “Pereyaslavskaya Rada” (1952 -1954), “Memory of the Fathers” (1966-1967), “Oath” (1968- 1970), “At Home” (1964), “Always in the ranks. N. Ostrovskaya “(1970-1971), a triptych” Alexander Nevsky, Alexander Suvorov, Georgy Zhukov “(1987) and others. The works of Vladimir Vasilievich Davydov are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum in Lvov. Andrei Sheptytsky, the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko and other museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
