Soviet Ukrainian painter. Schedule. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Grigory Vasilyevich Bonya was born on April 1, 1918 in the village of Gradizhsk, Poltava region. From 1936 to 1939 he studied at the Kharkov Art College with SF Besedin. In 1939 he entered the Kiev Art Institute, but the war was interrupted by his studies. Bonya G.V. – a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was awarded military decorations. After the war, the artist returns to study and work. Since 1949 – participant of regional, republican and all-union art exhibitions. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. In 1950 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, where his teachers were A. Shovkunenko, V. Kostetsky, M. Sharonov, T. Yablonskaya. In 1978, Grigory Vasilyevich Bonet was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR”. Personal exhibitions took place in Kiev in 1980 and in Krasnoyarsk in 1981. He worked in the field of easel, monumental painting and graphics. Author of thematic paintings, landscapes and portraits. His works are kept in the National Museum. A. Sheptytsky in Lviv, in the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, in galleries and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
