Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. People’s Artist of Ukraine. Alexei Mikhailovich Artamonov was born on February 18, 1918 in the village of Vvedenka (now Morshansk district, Tambov region of the Russian Federation). From 1934 to 1938 he studied at the Moscow State Academic Art College in memory of 1905. The teacher is N.P. Krymov. In 1938, on a Komsomol tour, he was drafted into the Red Army. Member of the Great Patriotic War. From 1942 to 1945 – deputy commander of the intelligence partisan detachment Ustim Karmelyuk. Since 1945, Artamonov A.M. – Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1947 he made his debut at the IX Ukrainian Art Exhibition, which was opened in the Kiev State Museum of Ukrainian Art. Participant of republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
Worked in the field of easel, monumental painting, poster. Master of thematic paintings, compositional portrait, landscape and still life. Major works: “Oil rig.
