An outstanding Soviet Ukrainian painter, a master of landscape and still life. People’s Artist of the USSR. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Born Shishko Sergey Fedorovich June 25, 1911 in the village Nosovka Nezhinsky district in Chernigov in the family of a veterinarian. In 1919, together with his parents moved to the city of Nizhyn. Here in elementary school I received the first lessons from the drawing teacher P. Lapa, whom he always remembered with great respect and love. It was this teacher who managed to instill in his pupil a love of art and helped the first practical lessons and professional advice, which played a significant role in the formation of Sergei Shishko as an artist with his own handwriting. In the years 1929-33, Shishko SF studied at the Kiev Art Institute in F. Krichevsky. In 1943 he graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Arts, where his teacher was B. Ioganson. People’s Artist of Ukraine since 1964. People’s Artist of the USSR since 1974. In 1982, Shishko S.F. became a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine. TG Shevchenko. Sergei Fyodorovich lived and worked in the city of Kiev. The artist’s works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Simferopol, Sumy, Odessa, Chernigov and many other art museums and private collections.
