Ukrainian painter. Yuri Nikolayevich Egorov was born on January 27, 1926 in Stalingrad (now – Volgograd). From 1943 to 1945 he studied at the Krasnoyarsk Aviation School. After his graduation he served in the Kazan aviation regiment. From 1946 to 1947 he studied at the Odessa Art College. M. B. Grekova in TB. Fraerman, and from 1948 to 1952 – at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I. Repin Academy of Arts of the USSR. From 1952 to 1955 he continued his studies at the Leningrad Higher Art Industrial School. V. Mukhina. where his teachers were GA. Savinov, G.O. Rublev, K.L. Johanson. In 1955, Mr. Yu.N. Egorov moved to Odessa, where until 1957 he taught at the Odessa Art College. M.B. Grekova. Since 1957 he participated in republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions. Since 1958, a member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Worked in the field of easel and monumental painting. His solo exhibitions and group exhibitions with his participation took place in Odessa, Kiev, Moscow, Leningrad, Chisinau, abroad – in Great Britain and Bulgaria.
In 1989 he was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR”. Even during his lifetime, Yuri Nikolayevich Yegorov became a recognized classic of the Odessa School of Painting. In 1995-1997 years. Yegorov Yu.N. was the rector of the non-state Academy of Arts in Odessa.
After the death of the artist, in June 2009, in the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa, the hall of the permanent exposition of his works was opened. Works Yu.N. Egorov are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Odessa Art Museum, in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
